Mickey Mouse Horror Film Trailer Released Same Day Disney Character Enters Public Domain #shorts
On January 1, 2024, a new film teaser trailer was dropped for a chilling Mickey Mouse horror flick, coinciding with the day Disney’s copyright on the original cartoon character lapsed into the public domain.
The Movie, Mickey’s Mouse Trap, a sinister figure dons a Mickey Mouse costume with a mask reminiscent of the Steamboat Willie era, serving up spine-tingling suspense.
It has been released after the copyright to the 1928 version of Mickey Mouse expired in the US.
The country’s copyright law says rights to characters can be held for 95 years.
