Sonic’s current design, which fans adore, almost didn’t happen. The original design for 2020’s Sonic movie faced massive backlash because it was, frankly, pretty terrible. The creators actually listened to the criticism, scrapped the bad design, and revamped Sonic to look more like his classic game self. This change delayed the movie and cost a lot, but it paid off big time. Without this change, we wouldn’t be looking forward to the third movie today.
