Inside Out 2 introduces two new emotions, Envy and Ennui, who don’t exactly match their names but still fit well into Riley’s emotional landscape. Envy and Ennui’s interactions with Anxiety show different aspects of Riley’s struggle, with Anxiety driving her forward despite Envy and Ennui’s influence potentially leading her to isolate herself. Despite their names not perfectly matching their roles, Envy and Ennui add depth to Inside Out 2’s portrayal of Riley’s emotional journey through puberty.
