Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey (2026) will be the first ever feature-length film to be shot entirely with real IMAX film cameras.
IMAX created next-generation cameras for the production, including one called the “Keighley camera” that made its first production appearance on The Odyssey Y.M.Cinema. These new cameras are 30% quieter than previous models The Hollywood Reporter, addressing complaints about muffled dialogue in Nolan’s earlier films.
Massive Film Usage: Over 2 million feet (610 kilometers) of IMAX 70mm film was used to shoot the movie Wikipedia during 91 days of principal photography.
