This Super Mode for Optimus was cut from Transformers 2. Revenge of the Fallen had 1 of the most incredible homages to classic Transformers lore. It introduced Transformers Armada’s Jetpowered Optimus to the live action cinematic universe. Where he’s giving an extreme boost in power after having Jetfire’s remains transplanted onto his damaged body. A power-up that made him double in size. But what if I told you that he was originally supposed to receive upgrades that made him even bigger? That’s right, Optimus was supposed to combine with his trailer. Where it woud’ve not only given him the power to fly and grant him more accessories. But it would also increase his height greatly instead of using Jetfire’s legs for stilts. owever, the idea of Optimus combining with his trailer was not forgotten, and showed up on screen in Dark of the Moon. Except this time around Optimus wouldn’t receive that growth spert.
